Performance group
One routine a session, shown in the spring.
The performance group is for dancers who want more of the floor. It meets once a week and learns one routine across the session, which the group shares at the spring show in May. A dancer joins by invitation from the teachers, with the family's agreement, and stays as long as they enjoy it.

What a rehearsal is like
- 01
Step 1: Warm-up
Ankles, hips and a short run through last week's routine.
- 02
Step 2: New material
A few eights of the session's routine, taught slowly and then with music.
- 03
Step 3: Trading eights
Dancers take turns calling a rhythm and answering it as a line.
- 04
Step 4: Run-through
The routine so far, once with music and once without it.
- 05
Step 5: Cool-down
A last stretch and a word about what to practice.
What to wear and bring
Shoes
Tap shoes for the tap routines and jazz shoes for jazz, as the group's teacher says.
Clothes
Practice clothes you can move in. For the show, the group's costume is ordered in the winter.
Bring
A bottle of water and a notebook if you like to write down the counts.
